Audits are divided into three categories.

• 1st party audits are audits carried out by institutions themselves. (Internal audits)
• 2nd party audits are the audits of the institutions that the institutions cooperate with and have done by the supplier companies from which they purchase goods or services.
• Third party audits are audits carried out by independent organizations. (Certification audits, legal audits)
